Mike Rhoades and Co. continue to make moves in the portal.
Penn State on Wednesday afternoon earned a commitment from transfer guard Roberts Blums, who spent the previous two seasons at Davidson. In 2025-26, he averaged 12.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game while shooting an efficient 40.1% from three-point range.
Though Blums never started, he appeared in 32 games last season as the Wildcats mounted a 20-14 record, including an appearance in the NIT, where Blums dropped 22 points in an 84-80 opening-round loss to Oklahoma State.
The Riga, Latvia, native eclipsed 15 points on 11 occasions last season, proving to be a consistent scoring threat off the bench. He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 200 pounds, which should translate well to a physical Big Ten Conference.
Blums becomes the third transfer pickup for the Nittany Lions this offseason, joining guard Jay Rodgers and forward Brant Byers. Penn State lost senior Josh Reed to graduation and seven players to the transfer portal, making a large portal haul necessary.
